Our country is not perfect, but our government has largely worked because presidents have almost always (w/ a few exceptions) acknowledged that laws exist because it dangerous for any one person to have too much power-irrespective of the party of the president.

These limitations exist to protect the country. Presidents do not have the authority ignore these limitations simply because they won an election.To ignore rulings of the courts, fire competent government officials simply because they disagree w/ your policies,

The most dangerous part of this Trump presidency, however, is that he (and his supporters) seem to believe that he has the authority to implement his policies in whatever manner he chooses. This is dangerous for a number of reasons. The power of the president is not absolute;

For me, it's important to separate Trump's policies from the means he's using to implement those policies. I agree w/ some of his policies and disagree many more, but I do have to acknowledge that he and the Republicans were legitimately elected. They have the right to implement their policies

I see a lot of frustration from many of my FB friends about the first few months of the Trump presidency. There is a lot of very divisive rhetoric on both sides that I don't think is helpful, but I do appreciate the civic engagement.
