I used to finish books even if I wasn't really interested in the ending. I read almost every evening. Once I hit my 70's I realized I need to make the most of the time I have left- if I hesitate to open a book, after I've started it, I return it to the library and move on. Time flies at my age!

Unfortunately, because of his immigration status, they're still holding him. It's good that he got some due process, but the lawlessness of this regime still results in massive human rights violations. I'm still glad for small wins. Maybe we'll overcome this by "death from a thousand paper cuts".
