First time out I got to THAT episode of S2 and just quit.

Apparently it was conceived and first pitched as a movie. The Duffers had enough in the tank too spin out a mini-series, they tacked on a slightly open ending, but S2 starts and to me it just feels like they're looking for purpose in carrying on.

I mentioned this a couple of days ago, but I wanted to run it and then watch the 5th season. I'd only seen S1 before. Ran through that in a couple of days: great fun, appropriate pacing, felt like a complete story by the end. Hit S2 and have SLOGGED through the first 2 eps and stalled out again.

To a degree. Like I said in my review, hardly a thinkpiece or character driven, but an undeniably good time with amazing effects.

And how about we follow this with a thread of Oscar worthy stunts?

Maybe the most beautiful woman I've seen in film. Also one of the most talented.

Tartan had an incredible catalogue, and there's still a LOT that needs re-releasing from it. Paul Verhoeven's early Dutch films being perhaps the most urgent, while Verhoeven is still around to contribute.

Save the Green Planet and Peking Opera Blues are Day one for me. Green Planet is one I've been recommending to people for years, can't wait to upgrade from the old Tartan DVD.

The one (and only) nice thing about my pick being retired is that there's a real possibility that I CAN complete her filmography at some point.

I've also heard that Arrow are using different (and better) subtitles to the Shout releases, though you may want to wait for reviews to confirm that.

Just went to check and make sure I'm following you (and I am).

I've finally started making an effort with Letterboxd reviews this year, I've reviewed almost everything I've seen so far in 2025. Not been as good before so I have under 1K reviews there.

If I pick up a physical copy for PS5, I assume it will download the updates when I copy it over, right? I'm definitely interested, but obviously I want to play it as it is now.
