Finished our traditional Chinese takeout Christmas dinner and are now watching our annual "White Christmas" movie.

Anybody else disappointed with the new formats Food Network has done with the various holiday baking championships? I feel they’ve replaced the focus of baking skills with reality drama. Making the contestants choose who had to go was disgraceful.

I just love how my son, a senior in HS, is choosing to explore his world. Witness the 1st Tres leches cake he’s ever made. It is delicious. This gives me simple joy amongst all the ugliness surrounding us.
