In Buenos Aires there are 'memory tiles' all over the city. Each one lists of the names of 'desaparecidos', people who were kidnapped at that location and later murdered by the military govt. We're already at the kidnap stage. Who doubts that Trump will take the next step if he thinks it helps him?

I've come around to the belief that Democrats lost the White House in 2021-2022 when inflation spiked. Yes inflation was less here than elsewhere. Yes it slowed to <3% in 2024. Voters didn't care. Prices didn't come down, so they were voting GOP. Only Trump's toxicity limited the size of their win.

An abuser always tries to isolate their victim. Tourists can spread information the administration doesn't want us to have. Killing 3-5% of our GDP is a small price to pay to control what Americans see and hear.
