A favorite experimental project of Sean's, they create haunting piano driven works that incorporate countless instruments & found sound field recordings

Released on this day in 2011, Joe's #albumoftheweek, El Camino by the Black Keys, was one of the best rock albums released that year.

It's no surprise that this album is timeless given the collaboration with the brilliant Danger Mouse co-producing and co-writing the album with The Black Keys.

Sean’s #albumoftheweek is Gel’s HC For the Freaks / Promo Tape cassette single, released on this day 2019.

Prior to heading into the studio to record the promo tape, Gel posted a message on instagram with a phone number & instructions to leave a message. Sean did so & it ended up making the cut!

Beastie Boys Anthology: The Sounds of Science is an amazing encapsulation of the bands career up to that point that is thorough without being overly indulgent

An interesting listen with reactions likely to vary significantly.

This CD was a pickup by Joe during the Season 1 Road Trip this past summer from Lou's Records in Encinitas.

His 2nd LP, & final release before his untimely death, Modal Soul is a magnum opus of lo-fi, chill, fusion, jazzy hip hop that blazed a trail for so much that followed in Nujabes footsteps.

Released 30 years ago today on CD in the U.S. (the vinyl was released on Halloween, & CD/cassettes were released on November 6th in the UK), Joe's #albumoftheweek is Alice in Chains self-titled album, aka Tripod or Three-Legged Dog.

It's the band's 3rd LP & is often overlooked, but it shouldn't be.

Recorded on this day in 2021, and released on January 8, 2022, Sean’s #albumoftheweek is Live In S.F. by RBS champions Sunami.

The release is cassette only and features a cover of a song by Resist Control. Oh, and Thee Parkside is awesome. If you're in SF, definitely check out the spot.

A massive album for Sean, purchased at Streetlight Records in Santa Cruz while killing time waiting for the bus, Sean’s #albumoftheweek is In the Absence of Truth by Isis released on this day in 2006

While many Isis fans disagree, for Sean, this album is a 10/10, near perfect record with no skips

Their 2nd LP, this album laid the blueprint for all the alt-metal that followed. Highlighted by My Own Summer (Shove It) & Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) this is Joe's favorite Deftones album & it's not really close

This vinyl comes from our mom's collection & it was in regular rotation in our household in the 80's

It's a front to back listen of some of the greatest hits in pop music from the 70's into the early 80's

Released on this day in 2008, this is the electropop debut album from the duo of Luke Steele & Nick Littlemore. Joe added the title track to the Road Trip Radio Playlist all the way back in Episode 10 of Season 1.

Released on this day 25 years ago (in 2000), Dark Days contains original music created by DJ Shadow for the documentary of the same name by Marc Singer.

This CD was produced as a Limited Edition with a reported production run of 7,000 discs.
