Kester and whatever name Multicore is under now are fine.
I have used them over Chipquik myself.
As for flux, there is also MG Chemicals, which seems more available in some places as well.

Low leakage and low ripple?
We used some medical grade power supplies in things because those had the lowest noise of all the COTS power supplies we could get for the price we wanted to pay.
But the large transformer could be an attempt to meet the medical isolation requirements.
That's my guess.

And no, it was not on the first try.

Yeah that seems to be the consensus.
1/4 and 1/3 of them have now been scrapped.
One even gave a "new" CR2032 and holder for it for my RB58vy 4m radio.
The previous one lasted only then years!

That we even considered sheltering such a wild slate of stories under D&W's patchy umbrella speaks to one of its great strengths and, to me, joys - it was less a comic, more a launchpad for whatever hare-brained thing tickled us in a given week, like releasing an entire album of in-character noise.
