They’re writing strongly worded letters!

You would think that commercial insurance companies would just install bollards themselves or ask their customers to do so before starting a policy.

Second OOB cumulative update this month, is that a record?

With the Flock and similar cameras being installed, no reason why the city can’t use them to track and stop any vehicles where the driver is unlicensed or uninsured.

I mean, a different department called “Internal Combustion Enforcement”, sure.

I see what you did there 😂

There’s a Billy Joel song for that.

I mean, smartphones / infotainment systems absolutely contribute to it.

It’s going to be interesting to see how long it will take for his policies to trickle down to the rank and file. Hopefully within a month.

Probably part of the deputization program / task force between the DEA, NYPD, and NYS Troopers.

Some suburban jurisdictions attach these thin long plastic sticks to hydrants to make blocked hydrants much easier to enforce, NYC should do the same.

Especially since phones have options to outright block calls which don’t provide Caller ID and many people won’t answer as they’ll assume it’s a scammer or telemarketer.

So if a driver claims that their vehicle “took off on them” shouldn’t that trigger an investigation by a forensic mechanic?

Was the driver tested for alcohol/drugs/medical issues?

That really needs a city agency to just attempt a public nuisance case to get the business closed, there’s just not enough physical space for a car wash without large buffer zones at the entrance and exit. Would that be more a DOB thing or a DOT thing tho? 🤔
December 13, 2025 at 2:41 AM
Maybe he meant it in an endearing way, like groupies going after a band 😂

The letter was signed last year when he probably assumed Biden would be re-elected. Didn’t want to step on his party’s toes. Stupid politics.

I wonder the right wing’s reaction if 9/11 had occurred under Gore instead of W though. Would Obama have been elected in 2008? Would things be better or worse than they are now?
November 29, 2025 at 1:09 PM
They’re ambivalent at best.
November 28, 2025 at 7:18 PM
Did it have chicken flu or chicken pox? 🤔
November 27, 2025 at 1:08 AM
Good, but they need to explicitly create processes for when cops will inevitably try to harass or intimidate anyone writing them up. Any enforcement agency would probably need body cams.
November 17, 2025 at 11:27 PM
Are these being written up by the DOB or another agency? 🤔
November 17, 2025 at 11:21 PM
3 minutes? I would’ve played the lottery that day lol
