coding the defender to just stand between the puck and net already makes scoring on the goalie like, ten times harder. Maybe I won't have to overhaul the goalie ai as much as I thought hahaha

I had a few non-sports games planned for after joshipuck but honestly sports games are so fun to make. Id love to try my hand at golf tennis and basketball eventually

Just wrapped up implementing deking (that's when you do stupid little stick tricks), so there's only a couple core mechanics left for the prototype and then I can polish it up!

I'm very interested in licensing small bands local to the area I'll be moving to for the joshipuck menu setlist, but I'm kinda worried by the time I reach that point the bands I'm looking at now will be WAY too expensive. right now this vibe from Common Koi is absolutely immaculate though:

so I'm slightly shifting goals, I think prototype 2 I'll probably actually just call JoshiPuck alpha. That way I can expand the scope a bit, make it playable vs ai and local vs player. It'll give me a real meaty goal to shoot for AND I'll get to throw it on itch.io to gauge interest

i may be developing an unhealthy fixation on this project. anyways i can clean up nits on her shoes and collar but instead of wasting more time on a placeholder ill probably just rig her up next time. hi joshi!
