"Das drängendsten Problem in München ist das wohnen." -- Sibylle Stöhr von @grnmuc.bsky.social -- einer der größten vergangenen Erfolge ist, dass München einige Mietshäuser kaufen konnte um sie den Spekulanten zu entziehen. Listenplatz 5 für den Stadtrat 2026.

But the usual caveat: you just don't know when the weld failures will occur.
3M Aura sidesteps the problem with a different layout of weld points. The individual welds each take a tiny share of the mechanical strain, thus making it unlikely that any one -- let alone several -- would fail.

I wore a couple of the new iMasks for a few days each. Before going into a medium-risk situation (as opposed to low risk) I'd visually check the mask for leaks by holding it up to the light, and replace it if I spotted holes.

The expiry date on the new iMasks alone already suggests that the design is probably unmodified -- the new ones expire 07/2025, whereas my older iMask2's expire 12/2024 and 02/2025. So these aren't significantly newer. The weld points are located in exactly the same places.

The frequent weld failures in Standart UA's iMasks have been discussed up and down Twitter and BSky. Having done my own analysis a bit over a year ago, I decided to get a new batch and see whether the design had been improved.
