Quality is not a constant. It changes across biz stages. In the early days the goal is get to traction before the money runs out. That’s it. That’s all. Trying to win a techtwitter award for your system in this phase will only create madness for you and cripple the company.

It stings!

It also applies so well outside the 🤓 realm. Switching jobs, roles, relationships, processes - if it’s done out of frustration & escape, expect to face the same problems over and over.

I’ve seen build/release processes that rival the complexity of launching a rocket. Then again, a client was venting about a cross-department coworker who will manually scp code to prod and doesn't know/care what git is. We should honestly be amazed that anything works in software. 🙃
