What “Christmas” means to different people is different so one person’s “Christmas Movie” is another person’s “Movie with Christmas References” & vice versa, and no one is wrong. It’s just subjective.

There I fixed it.

In extension to your point (not disagreement, it rocks) the world as a whole has always been queer af & some people are just super mad about it.

I feel you buddy.
I had aches for three days the other week because I picked up 42.Kiddo at the wrong angle.

I’m pretty sure 40 is when my body warranty expired.

So many “oh, the youth don’t care about British culture any more, we’re losing our identity” bitching stems from gatekeepers in said culture refusing to accept that culture is fluid & needs to change and adapt or it dies. If you’re not allowed to help shape it it isn’t YOUR culture

It’s not even limited to things like D&D. I’ve seen this happen to community groups that shun younger members with slightly different needs (because the world changes) & cultural traditions that could thrive if not for shutting down any younger voices.

I see so many parallels to this that all essentially boil down to:

- Youngsters need to only interact with [thing] how we have always done, it’s tradition.

a few years later

- [thing] is dying, why did the youth kill it?!
or
- The youth have killed [thing] by enjoying it different from me

We are so cooked.

Like, the planet.

At 200 degrees Celsius until humanity is crispy.

But the third quarter profits will be as loud as the cries of the hungry and dying so there’s that.
