What kind of licensure or qualifications are required? Is the cost difference (oz to us)similar for other home improvement projects or unique to solar?

What does actual design, permitting and interconnection process look like? Does a typical project include an engineer doing an electrical design and a structural analysis? Do local inspectors expect a set of drawings? Do they come and inspect the installation?

We hear customer acquisition costs are near zero. How? No marketing or advertising? No sales team? I realize lots of US numbers include ridiculous, extractive sales commissions, but I know many US solar installers who don't participate in that nonsense, but their CAC is still not anything close to 0

I'd love to hear you dig a little deeper, beyond just the headlines, into what makes resi solar so cheap in Oz. For example on installation labor: are they installing faster (hrs/kw) or just paying lower wages? If the former, is it due to different products, housing stock, training, design?
