This is a rehash of a COVID-era conspiracy theory. A former friend from college tried it on me in 2022, claiming that there were chopped up bits of babies in the COVID vaccine. This is a guy with a BS in Electrical Engineering, so nominally educated and intelligent.

Me, too. I’ll hold out hope that they’ve extracted a significant concession, but if it’s anything short of a veto-proof majority to pull tariff authority back to Congress, then it wasn’t worth it.

Much of this is false or, at best, misleading. The IJ you mention was only ruling on whether he had entered the US without legal status. He has never been charged and had due process for being MS-13. He was arrested with his son, not 3 MS-13 gang members.

This is why presidents are supposed to put their assets into blind trusts. As with most things, though, Trump is not held to any standard and there is no accountability.

Bessent needs to educate himself on the concept of sequence of return risk. It might not apply to him (though hedonistic adaptation is a hell of a drug, so you never know), but recent retirees are screwed.

The claim in using the Alien Enemies Act is that we’re in a war, correct? And if so, shouldn’t these people be considered POWs, and shouldn’t the Geneva Conventions apply? And isn’t using a POW in a video for propaganda purposes a violation of the Geneva Conventions?

To them, the major wrong-doing wasn’t blabbing sensitive military secrets on a non-secure app. It was the unforgivable sin of inviting a journalist from outside the conservative media echo chamber. So of course they’d be after Waltz’ head,if anyone’s. (Except he’ll escape consequences, too.)

In any healthy organization, they would all be held responsible. In an even marginally functional organization, it would be the highest-ranking person (Vance, I presume) who would be held responsible. We’re all about to find out that the Trump govt. doesn’t even rise to that level.
