his second appearance is where he gets powers, he steals a super speed gizmo and goes straight back to fistfighting Batman. so I think the original poster was confusing the two into one episode.

guy could really box though

I won't lie, I have skipped over it before because, well, there are a lot of Magic podcasts and I don't have that many podcast-hours. I do put a lot of stock in Nile Opinion though, so I gave this a listen and yeah, it's just one of the best shows. By a lot. Very easy add to the rotation.

I would give Ultimate's derivatives higher billing than Ultimate, with Killer being my fave (but not the best). I think Ultimate a bit Kicker-ish; great as a technology underneath mechanics, but a bit too all-encompassing on its own.

Manifest appeared on many cards from before 2024, though.

You guys even use Hiberno-English structures a good bit. "To be sure", repeating the verb instead of just saying yes ("Will you be there?" "I will be") and so on. It's very cool but really weird to hear from people living tens of thousands of km away 😅

There's so much Irish DNA in the bones of Newfoundland, particularly wrt language. I don't mean "oh that Canadian accent sounds a bit Irish", I mean we come away from conversations going "that guy from Kilkenny sounded a little American".

also a lot of cards look very disparate and weird but end up doing the same thing bcos they're modal cards with overlapping modes. Like Bitter Reunion being half a Beans and half a Song. It looks like 2/2/1 split of random nonsense but it's a 2.5/2.5 split of key pieces etc.

it felt a bit like this to me the first few times I played the deck, but after a while it evolved into board states where I would think "I just need to draw any random garbage" and then my deck full of random garbage would provide
