Today I went to the 16th Annual Desperado LGBTQ+ Film Festival and saw Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story about the incredible trans R&B singer who performed in 1960s Toronto. Highly recommended and the campus at Paradise Valley Community College was lovely.

At the grocery store, I turned around the special magazine issues with 🍊💩 on the cover so innocent shoppers won’t be traumatized by his face. Got to do my part.

At my parents I watched two films recorded off TCM, The Great Lie and The Barkleys of Broadway. Both have concert pianist supporting characters, and Mary Astor and Oscar Levant play the same Tchaikovsky piece in each.
