I didn’t have to contort myself - they simply didn’t appeal to me. Even now, I like some Beatles stuff, but the endless deification is so annoying. Total Boomer rock.

In 1989 I was New Order, Depeche Mode, Wax Trax, and predominantly synth-based dance music. Seeds Of Love is so organic, I just didn’t get it. I would have slagged it off as “adult contemporary” because my palate hadn’t matured at all. Now, the title cut and Year Of The Knife are two favorites.
