Sounds neat! I wanted to move away from the esp32 because of its high power consumption - it's not very friendly with solar power, and I want to be able to leave these unattended for extended periods lol.

Would love to see how yours turns out! What kinda RF stuff did you have in mind aside from FM?

Obviously, you look up the sensor datasheet, do some light reverse engineering on the PCB, snip some traces, and pull the "DIR" pin listed in the datasheet high to reverse the output direction!

Despite the big feature list, I still need to test this thing! I've been mulling over the layout for a month, and I'm sure it'll work, but I won't know until I can afford to order a test batch.

While not as power efficient as the nRF52, it's still considerably more so than the ESP32, and felt like a great compromise for an all-purpose node with all the feature creep I wanted to let in. And it's tiny! The total size comes out to just barely 60*40mm, about 30% smaller than a credit card.

• All the IO peripherals!! The RP2350 on its own is a powerhouse. But I've also included up to 8MB (64 Mbit) onboard flash, a MOSFET-controlled output for an LED/buzzer/vibration motor, SWD header compatible with the RasPi Debug Probe, and an adorably small Seeed WIO-SX1262 LoRa radio module.

• Lots of protection! I included a USBLC6 chip for ESD protection on the USB data lines, and there's a PTC fuse on the output of the battery charger IC. Since it can be handled frequently in a case as a portable unit, set outdoors in a box, and more, there's no need to worry about shorts or shocks!

• Extra flexible charging & input! The USB C port supports charge rates up to 1.5A, adjustable via on-board jumpers. There's also a JST connector that accepts 4.35V up to 10.5V, acting as a pseudo-MPPT, making it perfect for solar charging! I also included the 2 most common hobbyist LiPo connectors.

• Tons of sensor possibilities!! There's a BME280 for temperature & humidity tracking. There's an INA3221 to monitor voltage/current draw on the battery, USB, and external inputs. There's a dedicated header for a GPS module. And if you want more, there's a STEMMA-compatible external I2C port too!
