Turning 38th and 40th into temporary transitways would be amazing, but probably require a lot of manned police enforcement — right now we’re evaluating the effect of these smaller changes on trolley travel times.
Obviously the best solution would be to just get the tunnel open again.

To ease the burden on diverted riders, starting today SEPTA announced:
- Shuttle Buses on Market St
- Police at 38th & Spruce to help trolleys turn
- Parking restrictions
- Closing part of 40th St to traffic
- Extended green lights on 40th st
