I also think Bessent has od'd on botox. I watched video of him speaking yesterday and he looks so weird.

I'm in North Vancouver above the fog where it is currently 16C in the shade. We've got no snowpack, so I'm expecting water shortages and wildfires this summer.

That's a relief. Glad to hear it .

I think it must be because I'm Canadian. Meta blocks news feeds in Canada.

I hope it works. Keep us posted.

What's worse is when you think it is an Onion headline only to realize that it isn't.

I agree

If the glaze looked fine prior to firing then it may be due to crawling, which is when you have greater shrinkage in the clay body than the glaze.
February 4, 2026 at 4:32 PM
If you heat the mug up first, the glaze will stick to it more easily. In future, if you get wax in the wrong place before glazing it, simply run it through a bisque fire a second time and it will burn off.

I recently went through a similar mild panic after firing a load with lots of flat items, so had more shelves than usual. The following load took a normal amount of time, so all was good. Hoping the same for you.

I don't think I could get it half that size. You are both talented and patient.

Wow, that is not easy to do. Gravity defying and perfect symmetry. Impressive.

For separating egg yolks from egg whites?

We have blue skies in North Vancouver. You might not have to go far to escape the fog.

Mason bees use clay to plug their nests, so I often dump slip in my yard if I'm sure it is free of contaminates.

Nicely done!

What magic is this? I want to learn this too. Did you use a laser cutter?

Congrats! Judging by the size of the kiln, you might be able to use the outlet for your dryer. When I installed mine the quotes were from $300 to $10,000!

I was afraid for you when I saw your post, but I absolutely can relate. I still find it hard not to peek! I time my firings so that the kiln will cool overnight because I don't trust myself.

I cracked the rim on a large serving bowl due to the cold air shock of briefly opening the kiln lid for a peek. So no.

Saw him in the late 80's and it was boring as hell. Crowded House opened for him and stole the show.
