The thing on fire

It’s a dumpster.

The national Guard does nothing but antagonize and shoot at us or threaten to kill us. It’s not really that much different from ice if you remove the kidnapping/ethnic cleansing part.
January 24, 2026 at 5:02 PM
Shut the fuck up. these agents are lucky nobody has exercised their second amendment rights on them.
January 24, 2026 at 4:53 PM
Another vanity reel for mr mayor. meanwhile, people die of exposure unhoused or get stolen by federal brownshirts. You’ve done jack shit. Eat shit.

The large demonstration is not a privileged thing to do. Confusing popular sentiment with material gains for the movement is privileged.

i was trying to be thoughtful about a post I saw, not be some negative Nancy like everyone seems to think.

I don’t know that it’s cynicism as much as questioning whether or not we’re going to base our sense of accomplishment on how many people appear at a march.

I am, however, interested in the numbers when it comes to the economic impact of a single-day strike. Could be good!
January 23, 2026 at 10:35 PM
I love to see people in a public space they own and paid for!
January 23, 2026 at 10:07 PM
I think that is a privileged way to look at it.

I think it is very much not a win to watch our neighbors get kidnapped everyday but celebrate a demonstration.
January 23, 2026 at 10:05 PM
Just trying to ask a question. seems like a lot of people celebrating an outcome before it’s happened.

trying to center the people that are targeted or already taken.
January 23, 2026 at 10:03 PM
Serious question: what are the conditions of a “win”?

They are stealing children and others everyday and we often don’t know who they are. Even if they leave at some point, they’ve already sent almost 2k people out of the state on flights from MSP.

This is an accessibility issue and possibly against some agreements/laws by which downtown buildings must abide.

Coldest day of the winter and a historical moment and a landmark bldg downtown says “not here”

Toussiant Morrison comes to mind.
January 23, 2026 at 5:42 PM
Only a business owner can come up with genius ideas like this.
January 22, 2026 at 10:59 PM
Has the mayor said a single fucking thing about the community organizing the biggest one-day strike in decades?

Oh, maybe not because none of the organizing power that built it is under his command.
January 22, 2026 at 10:47 PM
Seems like all anyone wants to do is make caveats for their participation in a popular strike.
January 22, 2026 at 10:40 PM
Or letting a walking propaganda mascot in their studios for an interview a few times to give his side of the story!
January 22, 2026 at 10:28 PM
He will say sassy stuff then continue to let his constituents get kidnapped and sent to a concentration camp.
January 22, 2026 at 10:22 PM
Angie Craig had the good sense not to vote for it even though she's basically a republican. Wow.
January 22, 2026 at 10:05 PM
This is more about generating headlines than an actual charge and the feds may be ok with that. Or we'll get a gross miscarriage of justice. Hard to say.
January 22, 2026 at 10:00 PM
They will be advertising "at the protest" (is there just one?) "wearing SDC shirts." That's a bit too much for me jfc.
January 22, 2026 at 9:57 PM
It's funny how people whose job is to steal the surplus value that labor produces are hemming and hawing about a strike... Hm...
January 22, 2026 at 9:56 PM
It's about the headline and right now than any outcome in the future.
