A real human being.
Is it an older release? It is entirely possible that an earlier release was region free.

The StudioCanal UHD is, of course, region free, but the included Blu-ray is listed as Region B locked on DiabolokDVD's listing.

Janus Films has the rights to it now, so the Criterion release should eventually come back in print.

They probably should include a little note with the replacement discs to let people know what is wrong with the earlier discs..

The discs were mislabeled.

Always chuckle when I imagine someone blindly stumbling onto a Hanzo the Razor movie on the Channel.

The closest to a complete run of them was that 24/7 streaming channel on Pluto a few years back, but even that was missing some titles.

Sony's rights to them have been expiring over the last couple of years. Criterion has about half of them now and will presumably get the remaining ones (or since Toho bought GKids, they might let them have 'em). Criterion has to wait for Toho's OK before they can release them on Blu-ray/UHD.

As always, the GOP's boogeyman Dems are way better than the actual Dems.

No, they've been streaming them for a couple of years.

I don't think they are as bad as the recent restoration of Herzog's Nosferatu reportedly is, but, yeah they should have been better.

These restorations were pretty heavily degrained, so the upgrade to UHD from Blu-ray isn't likely to be that great.
