Darren Anderton is a Spurs legend. This is a must-listen for anyone who lived through the 90s or wants an easy listening entry point to a pivotal time in the Club’s history.

I’m warming you up for bigger roles Milo!
80s90sspursbooks.bsky.social
Thank you - very kind of you to say so but still very much a role for you. My period only covers 15.38% of the clubs entire history 🤓🤣
80s90sspursbooks.bsky.social
Brave of you to mention that one!

I’m sure there’s some objective metrics in play here but the first ever World Cup match I ever watched was Cameroon beating Argentina 1-0 in 1990. Wonder where that is placed?

On this Spurs day in...1994

After the chaos of September we settled into some calmer performances with this 1-1 draw v QPR.

However, there was still drama with Kevin Scott and Les Ferdinand both sent off for 'handbags'
QPR mgr Gerry Francis was back at WHL within 6 weeks 👀

Following up yesterday's same surname different player game...how about very similarly sounding surname (i.e. just a letter or syllable away). Here's a couple to get you started...

Becoming slightly obsessed with tracking locations of my downloads (thanks @notthatmilo.bsky.social for exposing me to this rabbit hole!)

I'm now intrigued by my 4 downloads from Boardman, USA. There's a Boardman in Oregon and one in Ohio but which is it?

Whichever it is delighted to have you!

And before signing off for my working day…

There’s also Adam Smith who played once for us before making his name at Bournemouth

1-0 down from the first leg we welcome Cyril Knowles' Torquay to WHL for League Cup 1st round 2nd leg.
It's a comfortable 3-0 win in the end though stay tuned for a remarkable Paul Robinson-esque attempt from their keeper

On this Spurs day in 1981...

We beat Man U 1-0 at WHL in the League Cup 1st leg. Love the sight of the West Stand nearing completion in the backdrop and Bryan Robson's (on Man U debut) perm.

We recorded several big cup wins over Man U in the early 80s.

Good work everyone! The only other one I cant see anyone mention is...
80s90sspursbooks.bsky.social
How many pairs of Spurs players (past and/or present) who have the same surname can you name.

I’ll obviously add bonus points for any 90s players…

Here’s my starter:

Thanks Beth! I'll hold back on an episode about him presenting 6-0-6 and specifically requesting 'lady callers' to phone in 😦

We make hard work of this League Cup 2nd leg tie eventually beating Burnley 3-1 at WHL.
Two classic Teddy goals and an assist for a spectacular Howells volley but Caskey sees red for an off the ball elbow.

From what I've heard Terry Fenwick, much criticised by the fans, was looked up to by all the younger players and clearly highly appreciated by Venables.

Who would be your 5-man 'leadership group' from this squad in 88/89??

Safe journey to all those Spurs fans travelling to Leeds this morning.
We had mixed fortunes there in the 90s but the nadir was the 95 FA Cup SF when we were only allocated one side of the ground!
What are your memories of Elland Road in the 90s? Here's our 2-0 win in 1990

It would be even more random if you’re now in Shepherds Bush reminiscing about today’s memory of a 4-1 defeat at QPR! 🤣
