I didn’t even know you could still commit recruiting violations in college football, but shame on me for underestimating Bill Belichick’s ability to innovate in the cheating space.

Reports of serious recruiting violations remain under investigation at UNC. Recruiting and practice violations have already been proven by the school, according to multiple sources

I have the same question, they just opened one up near me and I could not figure out what their deal is
85mf.bsky.social
Huge weirdo, zero balls, would be the easiest person in the world to push around if any of them could be bothered to do it
85mf.bsky.social
Yep, and for some reason the people asking the question don’t want to push back on that bullshit answer.

“Yes, I’m second in line to the presidency, and no I do not follow the news.”
85mf.bsky.social
Can somebody finally just say to him that this is not a credible answer? Nobody believes it because it’s an obvious lie, you don’t have to accept him lying.

Q: Do you agree that the mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois should be in prison?

MIKE JOHNSON: Should they be in prison? I'm not the attorney general. I'm not following the day to day on that

This is when Flacco ends up shining for whatever reason so I’m sure he’ll somehow be good again
rapsheet.bsky.social
The Bengals are trading for Joe Flacco, per me and

Just a wild turn of events. Cincy has been calling around for 48 hours. Now turn to Joe Flacco to keep their playoff hopes alive. A stunner.

I don’t think he realizes the extent to which he’s gotten a relative free pass since he’s been here when he’s basically been Tobias Harris
85mf.bsky.social
I don’t want him thinking about getting yelled at while he’s flailing at changeup, alternatively I at least ask that he be smart enough to not say it out loud
85mf.bsky.social
also he should be thanking his lucky stars he wasn’t thrown out at second like he by all rights should have been
85mf.bsky.social
I’m annoyed at all of it today but I don’t know how to interpret “we don’t want to be reprimanded for doing something bad” other than he is being a colossal baby
85mf.bsky.social
hard to be upset once you know he was worried about being reprimanded 😔
85mf.bsky.social
I believe you, I also think you’re being overly Pollyannaish about what he’s saying. It’s tense buddy, go hit the ball. That’s what the money is for.

Teoscar Hernandez must be a deity for hitting a home run when everyone in the building was hoping he wouldn’t!
85mf.bsky.social
Are we giving him credit for games 1-5 of the Arizona series, or only for when they stopped hitting? I’m just not sure what he needs to do to make Bryce Harper comfortable hitting in the playoffs.
85mf.bsky.social
Now I have been banging that drum for about three years.
85mf.bsky.social
and I think it’s wrong to say he’s only marginally underperformed. He was the worst everyday player in the sport for a lot of this year.
85mf.bsky.social
He’s honestly snuck under the radar because they’ve consistently won without him living up to his salary.
85mf.bsky.social
I was talking about his whining about the fans. If he had signed here at almost any other time there would have been a bigger spotlight on him from the start and he would’ve already been run out of town by the way he’s played for four years.
85mf.bsky.social
I may be wrong, I just think a manager’s impact on how guys hit in a short series is largely overstated.
85mf.bsky.social
I wasn’t limiting it to the playoffs. He’s been a bad player for the last three years from April on.
85mf.bsky.social
I guess I agree with the first part. I think he’s gotten a lot of coin flips wrong but I mostly think it’s hindsight when they just cannot hit the ball for the 15 innings at a time.
85mf.bsky.social
I wouldn’t have but I don’t agree with that. Teams bunt in extras all the time to move the ghost runner with the leadoff batter. I just think Stott had a decent chance of moving the runner either way.
85mf.bsky.social
In his defense how was he supposed to know the third pitch would be something offspeed and well outside the zone
85mf.bsky.social
Would be curious to hear Schmidt’s take on this after two beers. It’s never been as tough on these guys as it used to be Castellanos has never even been the one who has to answer for it like Harper and Schwarber, even though he’s been the biggest underperformer of them all
