"I don't understand how people ___."

Often, I've used this phrase to dismiss others, instead of taking initiative to understand them. But understanding others leads to both compassion and solutions. We were taught to condemn others; perhaps it is even human nature. But it is not the only option.

Ever find yourself lacking motivation to clean your home, but having plenty of sexual confidence? Trade one for the other with Grindr! If you're lucky, a boy will flake only after you've prepared for his arrival. Note: if preparing more than your home, proceed at your own risk.

PSA: banks will often refund fees if you just ask. Usually once on a new account, but never hurts to call.

I forgot a credit card wasn't on autopay so my payment was a few days late. The first agent I talked to immediately refunded the late fee and most of the interest (since I'd paid in full).

Someone just asked me how the weather was outside. I nearly said "the same temp as it's been for 3 weeks."

Surely there are better questions for smalltalk in SF. For example, "are you a top or a bottom?" or "how has big tech hurt you?"

Retroactive new years resolutions for 2024, I'll go first. I'm not much more punctual than in 2023 and I still have trouble motivating to do chores. But I'm less angry at myself for it, and that's healing. I have plenty of carrots pulling me to be better---let's keep getting rid of some sticks.

What if corporations were legally obligated to follow their own mission statements---wonder how many would be shortened to "return profit to shareholders"

What if---hear me out---shortages of tops don't actually exist in the US. In rural America, the internalized homophobia keeps the TBR (top-to-bottom ratio) high. And big cities, which may have low TBRs, have so many gays in the first place that there's actually a lot of everything.
