If you took a bio lab course in the past 20 years, chances are that you either don't remember what you did, or not much interesting happened. Most of what happens in most undergrad bio courses is irrelevant to daily life. Let's change that now.

Every time I hear an election post mortem from a dem strategist, and they say, "well, Trump is "an anomalous candidate..." Nope! That thinking is a HUGE mistake, and it prevents the opportunity for them to actually learn something. I mean, what if he's not?

Had a little open heart surgery last summer, and if you're curious about how the sternum gets wired closed, it looks like a pretty standard shoelace stitch, but with stainless steel wire. No issues with the metal detector in airports, but I can feel the wire under the skin!

Hello world! Not sure what's gonna come out here, but it's probably gonna be some science - both the teaching of, a little back-end "science behind..." and "how does _____ work?", a little on social issues and probably some mild political topics, and higher ed related rants. It's in my lane.
