Perhaps the coalition is living rent free in some journalists' heads.

You have to admit, though, that the temptation to give the coalition a taste of their own medicine must be pretty near irresistible.

They're overplaying their hand. This stuff only works when it is conducted in the shadows and it's out in the daylight now.

Is there a case to be made that police are one of the few occupations where unions should not be allowed (as in the armed forces).

If it's clear that an event actually happened, you only need to use "allege" if you are saying that a named or characterised perpetrator did it.

The orchestrators should should have let Latouf alone - they blew their cover and now they are more exposed.

"Green" is a lot easier to say than "Eleanor Schonell". We are a practical people

In the original design it did but the University didn't want to be just a through road, so refused permission.

In fact I think it was one of the few victories of human values over gross utilitarianism.

Part of the rationale for Cross River Rail is to open up the whole rain system. Probably will never be as good as Sydney or Melbourne but combined with busways should be a lot better

The police have probably had to offer to replace the car(s), possibly with brand new ones, or at least pay the equivalemt value with a bit of a loading (as they should in the circumstances). That probably helps them to be gracious!

What we do need in Brisbane is comprehensive small bus services feeding into Busway and Railway stations. Being talked about but needs to be fast tracked.

It is if you haven't got much money. And the previous fares were pretty steep outside the inner ring.

They're gradually fixing this with Cross River Rail money.

It's actually not too bad closer in. I had a couple of years over a decade ago when I couldn't drive and I got around OK. It's improved since then as well. Trains don't work as well as in Sydney because Brisbane's layout is like a fried egg.

Not many customers for coming BACK from the Bayside on a Friday afternoon. Previously mentioned stiff breeze is the clue. Also it's the retirement zone for Brisbane City.

Albo keeps saying how much they rely on the security services. Is he setting them up or just takking out some personal political insurance?
December 16, 2025 at 2:37 AM
That phrase doesn't seem to be in the version online anymore but I'm sure I saw it when I read it previously

Conggratulations to the mole in the Dept of War who has managed to generate this whole thread.

Sounds pretty good to me. Probably politically impossible howeveras people will not be able to get their heads around it, let alone vote for it.
