I think it does really depend on who is enjoying the story for the story. I remember when Magi ended I was really happy with it and felt like it was given a really good finish but I saw a lot of other people thought everything was kinda messed up character wise.
Apologies for discourseposting on a holy day, but the shitstorm over Black Clover ending (I think????) has rekindled all the talk about how "all modern manga endings suck" or "people always hate them now". It's always been alien talk to me, doesn't track to my experiences nor anything I've observed

My input is unfortunately with traditional art examples but is based in a mentality you can keep in digital.
Also I think I'll just be repeating things you know but hopefully having my examples will change what I'm trying to point out. For Me--

question to artists who know what they're doing: when doing studies, i often find myself pulled in two directions: wanting to construct as much as i can to understand the subject, or trying to mentally "flatten" the subject as much as possible so i can try to capture the proportions accurately.+

Anyways 10Dance was fine, kinda mid overall but i think thats because it needed to be a series and not a movie to really better allow character exploration and drama to build better. Still good but man it blasted through its story.

Im kinda sad the G**gle year in review is the way it is. Its very clearly trying to phrase the searches in a way that Gem*ni can be triggered by, but not how people actually make searches.

Jubei-Chan, but I suspect that's bc of a generational gap and not bc people didn't enjoy it or recommend it to others. I found scrolling a certain catalouge and well- Enjoyed it a lot!! I think some people in my gen (Z) would enjoy it similarly to most other ironic media they watch these days--
