Aren't chances high that the name for this will end up being "software engineering"? We seem to be on a very fast ramp to a world where writing software means "writing software with AI".

Not to say that it's not a useful question, just wondering if the answer will end up being ephemeral.

I spent a summer in Philly doing work adjacent to Comcast, and it was around when deepfakes were happening, and I really thought that NBC should use deepfakes to make personalized news broadcasts. Have your favorite celebrity read you the news you care about, etc.

I agree with the point you're making, so this isn't intended as push back: I don't recall mass protests to save white journalists or academics or professionals either, though plenty have been fired.
