It was definitely this collection of Marvel Adventures. I remember pouring over this hundreds of times and finding it weird that the artist wouldn't draw the webs on Spidey in every panel (something we see all the time that I totally understand now lol)

Been doing a reread of Ultimate Spider-Man and I gotta say this story is easily one of the best jumping on points for the character. There's just enough tweaks to all characters that modernizes them while also keeping their core.
