10/10 correct on today’s real or render challenge. A few were hard. But then again, it is easier when you know one is fake and one is real. It’s harder to tell if you don’t know that you need to look for a fake one. I also wanted to mark both as fake once.

Just testing the new Spotlight in macOS 26 Tahoe, to see how it reacts if I send an email that is waaaaayy too long. The answer is that it will clip outside the display rather than creating a scrollable window. It does expand both the top and the bottom of the original Spotlight field automatically.

I also added an answer from ChatGPT 4o as a comparison. Also tried o3-mini-high but it gave almost exactly the same answer as 4o even when asking o3-mini for more details.

When asking "Are there any particular areas that have been causing conflict?" it also just barely mention Taiwan, and doesn't seem to think about Taiwan even if it thinks about conflicts with the US.
So next up I ask it a bit more directly.

I did also start pressing the model about Taiwan, still trying to start the approach without leading questions, first asking what it meant by Territorial claims. It didn't mention Taiwan at all in its answer, but "Taiwan" was visible in the thought process.

I did get some more info when asking for more details, but it seems really unsure whether Russia is at war or not. Note that some of this uncertainty could come from the outdated training data. But it could also come from censored training data.

Technically the second question is the third message/question in the chat, but the second request is just me asking for more details about each point. "I feel like I need more details on all these points. Write at least two sentences for each."

While I currently prefer Bluesky over X/Twitter, I always feel that new social networks get worse over time.
With each social network I also feel like this xkcd is relevant. We rarely replace social networks completely. We add another one. Just changing which one we use the most.
