Although actually we’re probably on track for 2 or 3 degrees increase at the least, and at the moment our politicians are playing stupid power games, unwilling to recognise that they are just rearranging the deckchairs on the titanic.

These guys are playing a game of chess while the barbarian hordes are breaching the city walls, and they desperately want us to help them win the game.

It almost as though they want to distract from the fact that nature is about to show what happens when you fuck around.

How to identify the really dangerous one’s shoulder always be the first thing any prospective mushroom forager learns. I’d far rather get a false negative than false positive identification for an edible species.

What I mean is, to paraphrase Bodhidarma, Zen is about perceiving the truth. As a side effect of that a lot of neuroses will tend to clear up. That’s like saying wearing my glasses tended to clear up my headaches when that wasn’t their explicit purpose, but a useful side effect.

Not to mention equating the Buddhist position as he understood it with the ‘Black School’ that he also blames for the rise of the Nazis….

Clearly, I’ve always known that AC’s views on both of those traditions was limited to say the least. I think for a start he never encountered Mahayana Buddhism and equates what he does know with pessimistic Nihilism.

In any other context they’d be out on administrative leave while things are resolved.

Good, you answered your own question.

I’ve actually just been reading those chapters. There are certainly some eye raising statements.

As an even more basic meditator person, when people start waffling about the divine I assume they’re talking out of their behind about something they don’t sufficiently to warrant talking about it.

‘The Devil’ is traditionally the God of anyone you happen to dislike.

Precisely. We learned that the hard way during the fill/kill days (those were the days), which was little more than a purity test in the OTO at the time.

I’d heard Gunther was gone but I also recall being told his right hand guy was of a similar mindset. But it’s inevitable that outer colleges will reflect the personality and foibles of whoever is in charge. I find myself tempted to throw out the idea of lineages altogether and just carry on alone.

Whatever happened to him? I remember speaking to Bersson about 20 years ago, he was kind of intense and more than a little scary. I’m assuming he’s died? Also what on earth is a groypcelist?
February 4, 2026 at 12:48 AM
That’s quite the phase. Although I’ve heard of peeing on a compost heap to help it along, there’s a logic to it, but it is a bit gross.

There are a few chapters that wouldn’t be published these days yes.

Sure, but I don’t mind a bit of waffle. It’s not polished, but it shows the man himself even in his contrariness, and to me that’s humanising trait that I find enjoyable.
February 2, 2026 at 7:45 PM
That has to be one of the worst groupings I’ve ever seen.
