I saw my first Great Blue Heron at the rookery this past weekend. The males arrive first and will claim nests. Some of them will start working on the nests before the females arrive.

A silent snowfall blankets everything in its path. The Northern Saw-whet Owl, perfectly camouflaged on its branch, remains motionless. This tiny ball of feathers can fit in the palm of your hand.
