Exactly. My first thought was, “thanks for doing nothing helpful about that situation…”

Since I have a task-trained service dog with me everywhere I go, I feel like I’m always on an involuntary “discover all the bad dog owners of Portland” tour. I’m about as sympathetic to the cause as a person can be, and I *still* found his article whiny. He is the person most able to help himself.

There are many questions out there for researchers to pursue; it will be interesting to see what future studies show.

I’m so sorry about your mother and brother and for the uncertainty you face. 💚
I hope we can create a world where this happens less often. In the meantime, sending lots of good health vibes your way.

Also, the organizers of the event never responded to my questions about in-person accessibility for this “optional” (but strongly encouraged and important) event, which would have made it a lot more likely that I would have attended in-person. The whole experience has been ableist and insulting.

Congrats on being recognized for your amazing work. ❤️
Also, you, Luz, and Lin-Manuel are wearing the best shoes ever. Fashion icons! 😄

It sucks when people who have harmed you are also famous or powerful or otherwise in the public sphere. The harm is awful on its own, but knowing they’re being supported or enabled or not held accountable for their behavior adds layers of awfulness, too.
I’m so sorry. May they get what is theirs.

I agree and still found AirTags useful for that one time our cat jumped out of a window that was accidentally left open. She didn’t go far but was hiding. Took a few rounds of “Wait, it says she is inside. No… outside…” and then we spotted her hiding near our foundation wall and brought her back in.

Well, now that the sewer has overflowed into the river (and continues to do so with ongoing rain), I wonder if Christmas Ships are cancelled tonight, or if they plan on just sailing up and down the poop river with their twinkly lights on… 💩🎄🚤 😂

I’m so sorry. No fun for anyone. Kind of on-theme for MAX stations, though, you never know what will happen. 😅

If I go in person, it’s really helpful to know if I’ll have seating with a table, easy access to outside for my service dog, easy access to drinking water, and whether planned activities will require standing for more than a few minutes. No word on that yet. 😒
Also, abled people like options, too.

This is extra frustrating when the organizer of the event in question is a local government entity and should know how to include disabled folks. After asking about attendance options some time ago, they finally replied with “we are confirming hybrid meeting capabilities, and will let you know.”

I don’t like thinking about your death (so hard to read that chapter of Relentless), but I’m also glad you’re being realistic about the options everyone should have at the end of their lives. I read the article; congrats on the expected great-grandchild! Sending love to you and Luz.
