They do cause problems but that is a known issue and has been managed elsewhere.

Quite a bit of fluorspar in the northern Pennines too. I've got a nice bit of yellow with a pyrite inclusion from the Nenthead mines and some green although faded from a mine in Country Durham.

Some caving lamps have a UV option for mineral collectors etc. Some minerals fluoresce.

They have been great for caving. I started with an old surplus miners cap lamp with a heavy waist mounted lead acid battery that would get caught in constrictions. And they weren't that bright.
