Your article is from September 2024. Here's a newer one from BBC, and the Wikipedia entry. BBC pointed out that these are only verified, reported deaths. A FOX News report gave much higher numbers -- weird for a pro-Trump and thus, pro-Putin propaganda outlet. It is possible to exaggerate.

I actually have seen several figures. I don't have a way to verify the accuracy of them. Samantha apparently blocked the information I copied about the death toll, it's 72K as of December 2025, plus of course, a lot of people have left.
