If I may offer the advice that was given me for wisdom tooth surgery: If possible, try to sleep sitting up-right (like in a recliner) or otherwise propped up for the first few nights.
It made a huge difference for me in terms of swelling and healing during recovery.

Strongly agree that having your own space, your own hotel room you can go "home" to at night or downtime is the way.
Whether for work, personal projects, or just to rest and not have to be "on" for family, having that boundary was essential for me as an adult with family.
