I would love to know where some folks live to help grasp the costs in their area.

In small-city Wisconsin, I can pick up Ben and Jerry’s for anywhere between $4 and $7.

Hooray!

Also, should I do the Bluesky thing where I quote tweet you and say some kind of thing about the environment and electric vehicles or some such trope?

Unfortunately, there is no single book I can think of that would do it, as there’s an abundance of baloney that men are into…

And honestly you are doing great.

You’re probably at least partly being sarcastic about having no idea?

You should not have to cater to men.

Thank you to every queer person who has shown up for me over the years.

But especially to Jenna @jennadewitt.bsky.social in this particular moment for the beautifully worded reminder.

Preach.

I can’t encourage men enough to let go of ego, of self-importance, of self-centeredness, of supremacy.

When I let go of these things and care for the well-being and liberation, I am truly who I see at my core: a man.

As much as every person sees their genuine true selves.

We feel motivated, liberated, strong, and proud when we let go of chasing self-important manliness. The very feelings our shared cultural stories promise will come when we conform to manly supremacy actually arrive when we let it go.

It’s precisely because we are no longer ALONE.

Our culture creates so many images of masculinity that appear to compete, but all have the same core trait: an exaggerated centering of our own exaggerated individual importance. These stereotypes, too many to list, use exaggerated self-centeredness to prey on our time, money, and attention.

The single best thing I’ve learned from the queer community is this sense of profound selflessness. This idea, that @jennadewitt.bsky.social so wonderfully describes (go read the whole quoted thread!) quite literally helps me to be fully masculine, fully me, fully free.

How tragic knowing how much beauty remains after so much time has passed.

Truly pitiable. No one should age gracefully.
