Hey are y'all aware of The Summer Hikaru Died? If you want a good short one to watch (although there may be more seasons coming), this was faaaaaantastic.

. . . where there is no checklist of completed side objectives, I can absolutely get stuck into and play over and over because it really feels like exploration and discovery, not just filling out a checklist. IMO every open world game would be made better by getting rid of side objectives markers.

This is why I always give up on most Ubisoft style open world games, even the very good ones like Spider-Man. I'm having a good time, then I start to see all of the checkbox side activities (collect all 60 backpacks or whatever), and then get overwhelmed and bored. But something like Elden Ring. . .

It cracks me the hell up that even the artificial child he created has been lost to the "woke mind virus." Bad luck, Elon old boy, maybe the next one finally won't hate you!

I feel you, we live in a second story apartment with a west facing window and our second bedroom (in an 800 sq foot apartment) is like 82 degrees for most of the day 🙄 If it weren't for family and the Tex Mex I'd be gone from this hell hole!

The obsession with forcing it into everything is so confusing to me. Like, it's famously both expensive to use and also often wrong. So why does Google force me to look at an AI response whenever I search? How is that not just a waste of money for them, only to give worse results? What's the logic?

I kind of wish we could have seen the Emperor in this season, if just briefly. Like, who is he when he isn't presenting himself as a Sith in his moment of triumph? Does he always wear a black robe and cackle or does he still keep the kindly old prequel-era Palpatine facade?

Happy birthday Simon, I may not be English, but I still say you're a national treasure.

Oh man, Elite: Dangerous players leaving 2 star reviews saying "there's no endgame content, the devs need to add more stuff to do," meanwhile their playtime is sitting at 5,000 hours 🤦‍♂️

It is wild, this is so far beyond the need for lawsuits; the military should be forcibly removing him and doing what they can to confiscate any copies he's made of the data. Who knows if that's even possible at this point but lawsuits are not even close to what needs to be done to stop this.

...while simultaneously claiming to fight for Christianity and representing Christians, and many Christians are falling for it. I can hardly think of anyone else in history more deserving of the title Anti Christ.

I was raised in an Evangelical church but am now a very politically liberal Christian. And this is the thought that I have been unable to shake. I can't say Trump is truly the Antichrist of Revelation, but he is utterly antithetical to everything Christ stood for, taught, and did...

Thank God he wasn't researching spiders in the Amazon

Part of me hopes they'll come back in like 10 years and do 3 more seasons 😂 A vain hope I'm sure.

And if it doesn't happen, even if people love it but not quite ENOUGH people love it, it gets axed immediately. 1899 had a fantastic first season, was from the people behind Dark which is one of the best shows ever made, and ended on an insane cliffhanger, but didn't go viral so it was dropped.

Netflix is so awful and predictable about this. To get a second season, a show has to absolutely take over the Internet, become the focus of every opinion piece and every meme for months on end. If that happens, they'll force a second season whether it needs it or not (Squid Games).

I love The Expanse, but I don't think this is a fair take. Six seasons is a big success, and it had a good conclusion. The rest of the books take place 30 years later so aging everyone up would have been a problem.

I was not aware of this, but I love it. Merry Christmas!

Whenever I'm hanging out with the family around Christmas time, if there's a Santa hat out I'll just wear it for a laugh. And then after a while I'm just like, wait why don't I wear this all the time???

I was going to make a joke about my life revolving around Mads Mikkelsen's beautiful cheekbones but then I remembered he is not a fictional character

Have any of you guys read the Southern Reach books by Jeff Vandermeer? I get the feeling you would enjoy them...
