I’m here for book chatter! I mostly read books by BIPOC authors, and I love history and speculative fiction.

ALSO the way he phrased the statement (and he is a writer, we know he knows how to phrase a statement) is - “I was emotionally unavailable while being sexually available.”
uh, dude, the women are not like - if only he was more warm and caring, it would have been fine

I continue to be fascinated by Leigh Ann Henion’s Night Magic! In addition to salamanders, I am now really into fireflies (though, objectively, pretty much everyone is into fireflies) and glowworms and now even MOTHS. Seriously considering how to make my garden more night pollinator friendly

I really liked the Vijayanagar and the Easter Island/Rapanui episodes, if you need to build up to the seven hour one!

Noise canceling headphones and a lofi beats playlist. Also, do you listen to podcasts? I HIGHLY recommend the fall of civilizations podcast, which is fascinating and each episode is like 3-4 hours long. The most recent one is a 2-parter about the Mongols and it is almost SEVEN HOURS LONG

Yes! I also love a montage of gardening. Clearing up a space, planting seeds, mulching, green shoots, and then flowers! And, ideally, perhaps an ending shot of a butterfly perched on a bloom, or a bird singing on a branch.

I just recently read her new short story. Very much the same vibe as the others! Though I think the ladies of grace adieu was better. This one was so short I didn’t really get a great feel for it
