my favorite players from this save
this time it clicked big time. comfortable league win, cup winners cup, lost cup final to PSV in a champing. we wrap this save up, it was fun, and Willem II OG squad is surprisingly good with Kontermann, Hyypia and Galasek able to perform at top levels.

Willem II, season V. We need a change of guard to achieve a breakthrough. little fwd arrow on the midfield better fit our rep as a top european club. Lampard and Maradona regen come in att AMCs, with Socrates regen in MC slot. Dominating league and rush GK Abidal upping his game, if that's possible.

overall sh*te season, only consolation is a thrashing of Feyenoord at cup final (due to home stadium bug). 3rd place finish. One issue is this season we had a lot of team play / switch to UD and you just can't counter it in a consistent way - hit our goalscoring tally for sure.

Willem II, season IV. Added a bunch of squad depth, kept the starting 11, but performance actually worsened. CL QF against Juve is looking like a tough away game. League is also proving to be an issue.

League and cup done and dusted. It feels like we get way too many penalty shootouts by the way, I don't know if it's just a coincidence or somehow has to do with our weird little tactic.

F*** it, I chalk this one in the win column. We had 3-4 key starters either suspended or injured. Will need more depth next season.

CL group stage was easy. QF 1st leg against Parma is promising. Of course, it helps when you have the BEST FREAKING STRIKER in the game, the glorious Macedonian Menace, Avatar of Vardar, GORAN KARADZOV. 136 apps 148 goals. R9 eat your heart out.

Willem II, season III. We're fighting PSV for the top spot again and we'd run away with the league but just don't have squad depth to deal with injuries. Tactics still the same, tried a GK version with one less AMC and it just wasn't the same. I

show-time cup win against Ajax, that's 2 cups in 2 years. Konstantinou and Karadzov upfront are simply a cheat code. Karadzov bagged 55 goals each this season and previous one. Have some decency man!

Season II with Willem II. We looked like running away with the league until the very end, and messed up to end up 2nd. Played most of the season with Abidal at rush GK - probably the best rush GK I ever had, definitely conceeded less than Sorensen in the few games he played at goal.

league wrapped up as well i could have hoped. in the cup final, luckily we get Sparta (2nd placed in Div2) so we manage the double. cup winners' cup here we come next year.

this of course doesn't happen without the tactical magic. @nikolai9798.bsky.social have opened the doors of rush GK for me and I can't quite quit it. We're dominating the league, with the fewest goals conceeded (don't know how!), maybe due to the acrobatics of young Abidal at GK (averaging 8.73)

New save. Load up BNW, BeNe / Yugo / Por-Bra leagues. We go to Div2, BeNe league, Willem II. It's a not a fictional place that you buy Sami Hyypia and Galasek from. Let's see if we can make it to CL winners relatively quickly. We spend the transfer budget on Euro recommended eastern europeans

an ugly loss to Ukraine, followed by a huge win against Mexico see us make it through, barely. haven't managed to identify the perfect candidate for rush GK just yet.
