I think with Warren Ellis, he is a horrible person but at the same time at this point he’s out of the industry and has very little power along with outright admitting these things were true. Because of that I feel like he doesn’t anywhere near the same power to abuse people.

What I will say Ennis is not for everyone. This is not to say he’s not above legitimate criticism but he writes for a niche audience of people who have the edgelord sensibilities of 13 year old boy but also have progressive enough sensibilities to actually understand that his protagonist are evil

Moore is way more subtlely racist. Ennis tries to address racial disparities, and have People of colors as the main characters. He spends quite a bit of time in Punisher Max talking about the Military Industrial complex’s relation with systemtic racism

His inherent premise of a seriel killer who does good is a fascinating contridction. And what Ennis’s run does is actually analyze what that would mean and tie it to the MIC

Ennis is the only reason the Punisher has any sorta leftist depth in the first place. He writes explains of these characters because they aren’t heroes
