Character limits detract from this one, imo it's funnier the more lines you can think of to have them wait in before you get to the lack of a punch line

A boy wanted to take a girl to prom, so he waited on the ticket line to buy some tickets. They wanted a limo so they waited in the limo line for a ride. When they walked in they were thirsty and wanted some punch, but there wasn't a punch line
