Silly man who likes TV idents or smth idk
They're using the 9pm slot for Uncloaked (moved up from BBC2) and 9:30 is being used for new half hour shows. Can You Keep a Secret on Wednesday, the second series of Black Ops on Thursday, and Amanda & Alan's Greek Job on Friday.

The BBC appears to be going straight for the "power hour" with their move of The Traitors to 8:00pm for this series. I am very interested to see how it'll play out.

Agree that we need more "ha-ha" comedies too, a lot of that seems to have disappeared for dramas with the odd spot of dark humour.

A "big treat" can really lift the Christmas ratings across the board, just look at 2024. I don't think anything can possibly top the W&G/G&S double but a big entertainment special, perhaps a pilot for a new family drama or comedy, a one-off sitcom comeback, could all do really well I think.

It would be lovely to see the BBC at least bring back the later, post-news bits of CiN and Comic Relief. Three hours for the telethon seems a bit paltry compared to the megashows they were just a decade ago.

Highly agreed too. It's a big name show (in fact it celebrates 20 years in March) and the 40-minute gap for the news surely does no favours. Even a 10pm first look on BBC Three keeping it to one a week on BBC One would be preferable.

That'll be E4 sorted then. The fact it was almost their most broadcast show before the Big Bang marathons through December says a lot about how it's practically ascended to flagship status.
December 30, 2025 at 9:44 PM
Its been on E4 for almost 18 years, whereas they only had Friends for their first decade. It's probably been their most enduring show on the lineup, after Hollyoaks anyway. Goodness knows what would happen should they lose The Simpsons in a few years.

There seems to be more US Ramsay too in the morning, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine gains the 5pm hour that Big Bang has held for a while. They're also showing some cruise documentaries at 8pm from Jan 7th. E4 Extra has also brought in property show "Buying and Selling", which ITVBe had before it closed.

From the looks of January's schedules (so far) it appears to be The Simpsons and The Goldbergs doing most of the heavy lifting of the loss of Big Bang and Young Sheldon.

Another point of note is that BBC Three has no live Glasto coverage this year, although they do have a highlights show later in the week.

It's quite a bad problem with Channel 4 as well, tomorrow night they are showing three wall-to-wall hours of Location Location Location from 8pm until 11pm, the excuse being that it is 25 years since the first edition.

Sadly there is one coming to the BBC later this year, "Stranded on Honeymoon Island", from the creators of the insipid Married at First Sight.
May 13, 2025 at 7:05 PM
Fox in particular has gone very heavy on gameshows, what with their snatching of The Weakest Link and 99 to Beat, as well as The Floor and The 1% Club.
May 12, 2025 at 9:17 PM
My assumption will be the afternoon and evening gameshow blocks will be transplanted onto ITV Quiz, with those spare hours used for The Real Housewives of Wherever, and possibly a few more of the US dramas from the 90s/00s they seem to like at the moment.
April 18, 2025 at 12:44 PM
Whilst it will probably do well, I think it isn't the greatest idea to announce it so soon after Adolescence, which was also very bleak.

It doesn't help that a lot of the big entertainment shows are reality shows rooted in drama and negativity (i.e. Big Brother, Married at First Sight)
April 7, 2025 at 12:38 PM
Channel 4 always seems to give all the best promotion to the least deserving shows. The Honesty Box sounds like yet another attempt to create a show in the vein of MAFS.
April 7, 2025 at 9:33 AM
I do wish we would still see new US content on C4 and C5 in that 10pm slot, at one point it was common to see the likes of CSI, Lost, Desperate Housewives, House and ER on those channels at that time.

Nowadays it is just random repeats of Gogglebox or disposable true crime.
April 4, 2025 at 9:35 AM
Fabricant isn't even a well-known name like Hancock or Farage. I think they would be better off putting their celebrity budget towards I'm a Celeb, adding another three weeks to the main show, and using the CBB period to launch new reality shows onto the ITV schedule.
April 2, 2025 at 6:32 PM
I wonder if it would be worth ITV shifting their news to 12.30 and putting Loose Women against the news, or even to midday with a half hour lunchtime news, reducing This Morning back down to 2 hours.

There is hardly much of a need for two themes, it gets confusing (see also Love Island's 3 tunes). Agree the proper theme is better and if they really want to signal a new era for the show, it should be back at the star.
February 22, 2025 at 7:45 PM
They have been making a notable push into adult cartoons (including the aforementioned Hazbin and Invincible) so I expect far more of those. A James Bond series is pretty much inevitable too, and they will probably try and milk Gen V for as long as they can.
February 21, 2025 at 1:24 AM
It's sleek, smart and timeless. Looks every bit as good as it did then.
February 13, 2025 at 8:00 PM
I have always liked the Robertson Brothers version. Whilst it is definitely very much of it's time, it is an upbeat take on the song, it's catchy, and it does still sound good today. A new theme resembling it would be welcomed.
