Alki Bike and Board
@abandb.bsky.social
True neighborhood bike shop in West Seattle. Transportation, family and an all inclusive approach to retail. Used, refurbished bicycles are a specialty. Affordable, methodical and fast repair services. One of Seattle's oldest E Bike sales and repair shop.
Always committed to the single store, neighborhood bike shop model there has been an Alki Bike for nearly 90 years. First established on Alki Beach in 1936. Family owned since 1987.

Rad Power Bikes have delivered e bike mobility to thousands in there short history. Now it appears they may be gone for good. Plagued by quality issues, Rad has had a quantity mentality. At Alki Bike and Board in the second generation of family ownership it's still quality over quantity.

I didn't see the Q and A. I do think both candidates were refreshing relative to the new standards.

A proper bicycle always puts a smile on your face.

Good point! I have not seen that part of his confession speech.

Sarah Goodyear is not a Lycra clad "real cyclist" but a bike transportation rider/advocate. She helps us to look beyond the disaster of car centric policies and designs.

The ads were unfortunate. Mayor Harrell has shown us however, how to concede.

I am confident that Mayor Wilson sees the role of bicycles in the urbanscape. It is and always has been up to our community groups, Cascade Bicycle Club, Greenways, and neighborhood groups like West Seattle Bike Connections to work direct with SDOT.

Mayor Harrell did not come from the same framework as Kate Wilson. The sports background could have impacted his support of bicycle infrastructure. I am pretty sure in the end he understood the cost for value significance. I think Kate Wilson understands this better because of her background.

Completion in sight.

Looking forward to working with a true urbanist mayor with a progressive city council. Not to rule out a Harrell comeback, recount or the progress under his administration.

We were enjoying record temps in Seattle. I would have expected even better in Portland. Thanks for the images.

Saw Ray Delahanty with Doug Gordon and Sarah Goodyear in Seattle. The "War on Cars" tour. Fun night.

In Washington we have the safe stop rule that allows cyclist to treat stop signs like yield signs.

I hope to see expanded service in West Seattle's Admiral Junction. BTW, thanks for your patience at the budget hearing. Transit and walkability are intertwined. Walkability means you can safely and comfortably cross the streets. SDOT-001-B
