"The committee conducted a survey of over 650 educators and found that teachers are spending 80% of their time completing lesson plans and 78% of their time documenting meetings."

This is not stated correctly. Possibly those are the percent of respondents feeling too much time was spent on these?

Why don't they just have ChatGPT figure out how to beat the competition? Oh right, because it can't actually develop a strategy. That's the hilarious thing about all of this. If AI ever did reach the abilities they are aiming for, no one would need OpenAI or any of these companies anymore.

A lot of ADHD people who can't afford or otherwise access medicine rely on caffeine to function. It's not the best thing for them of course, but it may be their only support. Taking away that support and simultaneously making it harder to access any other is obviously terrible.

I'm sure someone would call you.

They should address that criticism head on then. Explain to us what we are missing and why they are making their choices. More engagement would be one way to directly counter the charge of them only caring about corporate donors.

I don't think it's a lack of common sense. It's fear overwhelming their judgement in very specific and narrow ways. That's why the propaganda is so insidious. And why the propagandists can't let up with it for even a moment or they risk losing their hold on the person.

Academics need to stop using purely academic language when talking to non-academics. Instead of using "prove", say "statistical certainty" or "evidentially supported", etc. Then we can support the negative side without fear that we are lying. We can be truthful, without losing most of the audience.

He is, though. But why that is, I do not know for sure. Lots of possibilities out there, I guess.

I think they want even video evidence to be disbelieved by the time any Epstein material comes out.

For sure! The hope for the internet was that it would bring variety and depth of information. But it ended up doing the opposite.

That seems unrelated to my comment, which is in favor of rural folks not feeling so disconnected from everyone else that they can't find any common political allies. So, I guess... no one did, I just want everyone to work together, because people are great.

Why should the rural population be protected in ways no other minority is now? If the rural population wants electoral power bigger than their population size, they can form a coalition with other interests.

I think it's hilarious that you are posting a screenshot of a post describing a vague interpretation of an article. Why wouldn't you just link the NYT article?

We need to make sure that Vance is tied to the crimes. Everyone who has access needs to ask him if he supports what Hegseth, Noem, and Bondi have done and what role he played in it. Make him answer now when distancing himself is still hard for him politically.

Of course it can!!!! Guardrails would require some sort of judgement. That is impossible with these LLMs. They cannot evaluate anything, they can only count occurrences.

I think the repulsiveness makes these women feel like they will be especially valued by these men. They like the unevenness of that aspect because they think it gives them the upper hand. The same reason rich guys date less sophisticated and poorer women.

Do you feel that the misleading price in your subscription offer on your page undercuts your trustworthiness as a news organization? Because I sure do.

I think unfortunately that is the status of many girls they were abusing. The timeline seems to be that they started with convenient girls and the model ruse and tried to find girls in desperate situations. They eventually realized bringing girls here in shady ways induced the desperation.

Consistency at least. They can't evaluate the truth of the premises.

I was always appalled at that also. Besides star trek and the Jetsons, we don't get a lot of mainstream utopian worlds. A path toward a better society, without it turning dystopian, is exactly our goal. Let's show what that would look like. You can still have human conflict within it for a story.

I am sure they are. The whole point of these protests is respect for the working class.

ICE doesn't get that respect because they are committing direct violence on behalf of the billionaire class.

Those 'Days' are the worst. Let's make the kids with overworked and underpaid parents feel even more left out. And half the time they don't even send a note home or any warning. Hope your second-grader remembers they are supposed to tell you what they were told once 8 hours ago!

The point is to focus and make an example. If the efforts are dispersed over a larger area, they aren't as impactful. Plus, people have to get stuff sometimes and there is probably no true ethical way to consume right now. So you try for least harm.
