It's the principle. You can't simply avoid holding someone to account if it might not succeed. And if we find he is in the epstein files and a sex criminal, the senate WOULD vote to remove him. MAGA and GOP might only have one red line but that line is pedophilia.

Actually, no evidence of any kind. Being friendly with a then very-famous financier is not a crime. It's not even bad judgment.

I remember reading Stephen King's IT when it first came out in the 80s. Yes, the story was fascinating, but at times, the writing was so superb I would reread it several times just to soak it in. ChatGPT would write such a story in 10,000 words, and it would be boring.

One of the reasons we expose kids at school to truly great writing, even if controversial, is so that they recognise crap writing when they see it. It is also why bookstores exist to continue that exposure... Pity too many Americans can barely read.

Trump's hires are all extraordinary solely by virtue of their astonishing incompetence. Is there a single cabinet secretary that isnt grossly incompetent and the vast majority of his legal hires are similarly worthless. But I guess when you are literally the worst businessman ever....

your personal experience is not a particularly powerful bit of evidence. Some kids go 'no contact' for no reason whatsoever beyond the fact that their parents wont/cant give them more money.

Enjoyed it thoroughly and have watched it many times. the problem was that it came right after the best ST movie ever - First Contact - and that was a hard act to follow. But it is still better than ANY of the star wars movies after the first three.

the problem is the term 'judgement'. How about saying there is some ST you like more than others rather than simply 'judging' them as good enough or not. By current standards TOS is rubbish.

I was NOT allowed to stay up past my bedtime so the first experience of Star Trek was just the first 30 minutes of every episode. Didnt see the full ones until ten years later.

Before some of you bag ST think of the mess that Star Wars has become. Three great movies. Then a few mediocre but watchable movies, & then their series... they were abysmal apart from The Mandalorian. Ashoka has to be the very worst with the 'hero' actually doing the thing they were trying to stop.
