Everything feels like shit but my four year old daughter woke up and immediately told me about a book she is illustrating called Peek-a-boo Sonic so I'm holding onto that simple joy today as I go to work in the midst of *all of this*.

My four year old daughter is so into Sonic that she's reading the comics now. I'm learning so much about ancillary characters beyond Sonic 3 that I had no idea about. Did you know that Dr. Robotnik had temporary amnesia and developed a new, kind persona named Mr. Tinker?? Also, God bless libraries.

Been talking a lot about sickness, but here's a fun food thing from today: I used our new air fryer/toaster oven (11 year old one bit the dust) to make buffalo fried chicken strips! So good and much more convenient/healthy than deep frying in a cast iron skillet. Same prep/recipe, too.

Process picture series (2): Smoke has penetrated. My small gas grill has trouble maintaining sub 300°F temps so for the next stage we're wrapping, chucking them in the oven at 250°F, and monitoring with a cheap oven-safe Bluetooth temp probe I found online. Goal is an internal temp of 200°F.
