So it OK or current affairs outlets, government agencies, schools, most films, etc to be overtly political, but not a computer game. America is weird.

I never expected to be goin down that rabbit hole at 2 am on a Wednesday morning.

Those who carried out the execution depicted which turned out to be illegal were in turn prosecuted by the British government. I mean its a pretty complex case but in no way has anything to do with the Dark Ages or does it show a world being run by Churches.

This is the Wikipedia page. Yes they were killed for religious reasons, but not by the church - by the British government, and not during the Dark Ages, but in the early modern age. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guernse...

Correction - I've found the source of the picture. It depicts events from 1556 on Guernsey - not at that time ruled by a church, but by a Bailiff working for the British crown. Also 1556 is the early modern era - not the Dark Ages.

Was also coined by a christian scholar, lamenting the lack of what we would call lack of scientific progress since the Romans disappeared. The Romans of course - known for their use of extreme violence.

Pic above shows events from 17th century - ie, the modern era, not the Dark Ages at all, in a American puritan colony.

So Dark Ages is a misleading term not used by actual historians, coined originally in 14th century to refer to lack of major achievements compared to Greco Roman era and later used due to perceived lack of source materials for research.
abductedcow.bsky.social
The term Dark Ages was actually coined by a christian scholar who lived during the so called Dark Ages.

Wish people would take the time to learn actual history and not just stuff they heard on comedy show or something.

I once got onto some blogger's list titled Top Ten funniest Twitter accounts. Ahhh, good times. I met my late partner through it.

I used it chiefly to raise awareness of environmental and trans issues.

I like it because i had influence over other big accounts. Even celebs only had 20/25k in those early Twitter days - up to about 2012. I was followed by many established journos, politicians, presenters, Radio4 & a few newspapers. One of my Tweets got nicked for a headline on at least one occasion.

There was one popular tran woman from the west country in the UK who always had it in for me or some reason. She was constantly putting out little barbed comments about me. ever found out what i had done wrong. Last time i saw her she started a dog pile against me claiming i was ableist.
abductedcow.bsky.social
i even got put on an anti TERF block list.

i had 25k follower on Twitter about a decade ago an yeah, people tarted treating me like i was an established member of the media an had extra responsibilities instead of just some person with a lot of followers. And a lot of people stopped trusting me - assumed i was lying or trying to trick them.

Maybe they should ban the use of 'burger for anything that doesn't come from Hamburg - that would make more sense.

My god, can you imagine accidentally buying a veggie burger!!

Unbelievable we are in a climate crisis where meat production is a huge driver of carbon emissions and deforestation
And instead of promoting meat alternatives - they are trying to ban them

OK - get rid of all the cars and industrial pollution and i will then get rid of my inhaler.
extremelyuncanny.com
On one hand, the propellant inhalers is bad. No denying that. On the other hand, I’m pretty sure all the crypto mines, private jets, and general military industrial complex is far worse.

I should be able to breathe without fear of melting the ice caps
