I have not worked with it before but I have worked with similar technologies e.g. WebSocket when I was trying to build a notification system for a review app.

It's a library that provides an open-source framework for real-time web applications. It's built on top of WebSocket, but it offers fallback mechanisms to other communication protocols in case WebSocket is not supported by the client or network.
